Messages

Original MPC/legacy remarks are preserved verbatim. MPC designations link to the object database; an MPEC is shown and linked only when the source archive explicitly cites one.

About this view

What you see and why: These are the original identification and status messages from the MPC and retained legacy archive, grouped by message category.

How to read it: Choose a category subtab, then search or sort its records. MPEC links appear only where an explicit reference is available. Zero observations means no validated local observation lines were associated with that record.

Why can MPEC or Observations be blank/zero? Not every identification line cites an MPEC. Observation counts include only locally available lines that pass the fixed-width Obs80 validation; zero is a coverage result, not a claim that the object was never observed.
